Citizenship Integration Services Providing Opportunities

Students of NexStep Alliance want to want to build a better life for themselves and their families through job opportunities and education provides that pathway and foundation for students. Since receiving a grant to provide citizenship integration services last year, NexStep Alliance has since completed two Citizenship class sessions with six students passing their citizenship interviews. After completing citizenship interviews, students connect to additional resources for a better understanding of the naturalization process.

There are many possible options that open once one obtains citizenship such as voting, furthering education, and helping other family members come to the U.S. “It was a pleasure to teach such a hardworking and dedicated group of students. It was wonderful to share in the victory of those who passed their interviews,” instructor Jessica Almutiri stated.

The next step for students is to attend the naturalization ceremony where they will take an oath of allegiance to the U.S. and receive an official certificate of citizenship.
