ESL Classes, Wichita, KSLearn and Improve Your English

Would you like to develop skills in speaking, reading, understanding and writing English in order to enhance your life? All levels of English or non-English speakers participate in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes in Wichita, Kansas, at NexStep Alliance. The classes are at no cost, but there is an annual fee of $50 for materials and supplies.

Join Our ESL Classes

  • Class Availability

    NexStep Alliance ESL classes are eight-week sessions. You may choose morning or evening classes at our Main Campus or evening classes only at our Harry Street Campus.

    Class Schedules
    • Morning Option: Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (Main Campus)
    • Evening Option: Tuesday through Thursday, 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm (Main Campus or Harry Street Campus)
    • Friday morning workshops at the Main Campus are available to all students.

  • Requirements and Enrollment Checklist

    To participate in NexStep Alliance ESL classes in Wichita:

    1. Select a class schedule (see above for more details).
    2. Select an open enrollment date.
    3. Enroll in person during the open enrollment dates. Please see below for information needed during enrollment. Must be 18.
    4. At enrollment, you’ll take a placement exam. No need to study or worry, it just helps us know where your studies should start.

    Goodwill and NexStep Alliance are committed to full compliance of the interpretation on the applicability of PRWORA to Perkins V and Adult Education federally funded programs. We want to ensure alignment with our partners at WSU Tech, so we are encouraging our students to gather the documents required under the new federal guidelines. Any student who wants to enroll in our classes only needs to have ONE of these documents to enroll.

    • U.S. Birth Certificate
    • U.S. Passport or Passport Card
    • Certificate of U.S. Naturalization
    • REAL ID-Compliant State ID
    • Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
    • I-94 Form with refugee, asylee, or parolee status
    • Employment Authorization Document (EAD) with supporting asylum/refugee letter
    • DHS SAVE Verification
